This excursion features three of Juneau's premier attractions: the Whale Watching & Wildlife Quest, the famous Mendenhall Glacier, and the Alaska-Style Salmon Bake. Glacier-View Sea Kayaking at Juneau, Alaska
Transfer by bus to North Douglas Island for scenic views of the Mendenhall Glacier and Auke Bay. Upon arrival, you'll be outfitted in life jackets and rain gear before beginning your adventure. Your experienced guide will teach you about paddling techniques, then you'll board two-person kayaks with a new friend or your traveling companion for an excursion that will leave you wanting more. The stable yet nimble kayaks will allow you to silently approach any wildlife in the area and give you a sense of how the famed Aleut Indians traveled the coastal waterways of Alaska in search of pelts for the Russian fur-trading companies. You will be led in groups of five to six kayaks to places such as the Mendenhall Wetlands, where you may have the opportunity to view the Mendenhall Glacier from an ocean explorer's point of view. Historic Goldpanning & Mining Adventure at Juneau, Alaska
Relive Juneau's gold rush history and pan for gold in the authentic setting of Gold Creek. A costumed prospector will guide you in a comfortable 24-passenger van through historic residential areas en route to Last Chance Basin. You will trace the route taken by Joe Juneau and Richard Harris in their search for gold more than 100 years ago. Near the famous Alaska-Juneau gold mine, one of the world's largest hard-rock mining operations, you will get hands-on experience panning for gold in Gold Creek. "Guaranteed gold!" Juneau Historical Walking Tour at Juneau, Alaska
Explore on foot one of our nation's most scenic capital cities. You'll begin this tour in an area downtown which was literally built on top of gold mine tailings. Learn of the city's gold rush heyday as you walk the narrow streets through the heart of downtown Juneau. Several buildings here are on the National Register of Historic Places. View the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church as your guide tells of "Russian America" prior to the purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1867. Walk by the Governor's Mansion and hear about Alaska's unique form of government. You'll even walk the street where Robert Stroud, the "Birdman of Alcatraz," got his infamous start. Enjoy a final stop at the Juneau-Douglas City Museum, featuring the area's rich gold mining history.

Mendenhall Glacier Express & Alaska-Style Salmon Bake Combination at Juneau, Alaska
  This tour combines an excellent view of the Mendenhall Glacier with a delicious salmon bake at Salmon Creek. Depart the pier by motorcoach, traveling through Juneau's picturesque downtown on the way to the U.S. Forest Service Visitor Center. Here, you will view the mighty Mendenhall Glacier, a moving river of ice with rugged crevasses and a distinctive blue color that appears deceptively close because of its immense size. Stroll the walkways to the Visitor Center and take in one of the glaciology exhibits, an interpretive talk with a Forest Service ranger or simply enjoy the panoramic view of the glacier. After approximately one hour taking in the splendid view of the Mendenhall, you'll board your motorcoach for your transfer to your next destination. The Traditional Alaskan Salmon Bake at Salmon Creek will delight all of your senses. Mendenhall Glacier, Whale Watch & Wildlife Quest at Juneau, Alaska
